No, it's not "I've fallen and get up" kind of assistance!
A few of us 'empty nesters' get together the 2nd tuesday afternoon from 2-4 and play games. ...THAT'S NEXT WEEK!
I need a few ideas of some group games that would interesting, but mostly fun and that a bunch of 'older' women would find hilarious or at the least mildly amusing!
So can you help a poor, li'l ole lady? Interactive with some guaranteed giggling will be much appreciated. No scripture chases please or anything that has a seriousness about it. We need to laugh in these times!
Thanks in advance. I KNOW how smart you all are! BTW, I'll be taking all the credit for your good ideas!

Apples to Apples is a great game with few rules and lots of room for interpretation and giggles. A description card is issued (ie. "fancy", "mysterious", etc.) and you have to choose one of your cards that best fits that word and then defend it to the judge. The best fit wins the round. Some of the rationalizations are hilarious...
ReplyDeleteMan, I'm really strong on scripture chase games....and lately everything has been a scripture chase game...
ReplyDeleteBalderdash is fun - we played it once at a party and had a blast.
The T-shirt game is similar to Apples to Apples and is a little less costly, also funny! You're selecting T-shirt slogans based on a picture to go with it.
ReplyDeleteIf you really want to laugh I guess you might check out "Curses". I've heard good reviews from the kids around here ( I don't remember how big the group can be, but it is pretty funny because of the "curses" you get...i.e. "talk like a pirate for the rest of the game"
I like the game "Quelf" It's VERY random. It's hilarious! However if you get stuck on the red cards it can get long. but all the other cards have you saying and doing the most random and hilarious things. I once had to say "I need my pills" every time I took a drink of something. I've also had to write poems about the strangest combination of items. You also get to act stuff out. One of my friends had to make a snorkel and mask from items around the house and wear it through out the game, until she got another action card to replace it. I don't know where you can find it. It's kinda hard to find, my friend got hers of the internet than got another one from a sister and gave me one. There's also another one called pictography or something like that, it's a type of seed and find game on 9 different boards. the pictures are really something. they are all hand drawn and hilarious. There's even a pile of poo! Those are just 2 of the games we've played at game nights. Quelf is by far my most favorite!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the game "I have never ____" You have one person in the middle of a circle of chairs who has to come up with something they have never done and then everyone who has done that thing has to switch chairs. The goal is to not be the one standing without a chair. Not sure it would work with your group but it was full of giggles and hoots of laughter. Also you can switch it up and do "I have ____" and everyone who hasn't has to move.
